Scholarships are awarded annually to qualifying students pursuing a career in Land Surveying who are enrolled in Washington college programs that offer Land Surveying curriculum. Students enrolled in classes in the Geomatics program at the Oregon Institute of Technology, as well as Great Basin College (online learning) are also eligible, but a desire to work in Washington State is preferred. The LSAW Foundation works each year to administer scholarships on behalf of individuals, families, and LSAW chapters, in addition to scholarship awards directly supported by the LSAW Foundation.

Please remember to include your college transcripts, both current and past (if any), a copy of the course curriculum for your school’s surveying program and be sure to sign/date your application. Incomplete application packages (please review application instructions), and/or applications post-marked/transmitted after the deadline will not be considered.

The Scholarship Committee will make selections for each year’s award winners, and award amounts, based upon the information contained on the COMPLETED application package – this includes transcripts, personal essay response and letters of recommendation.

Award amounts are determined in part by the number of and quality of applications received, evaluation of applications by the Board of Directors, local scholarship committees (if any), and instructions we receive from individual donors.

To be considered for an annual scholarship award, the COMPLETED application package must be postmarked/transmitted by June 1st (***applications post-marked/transmitted after the deadline WILL NOT be considered). Applicants will be notified as to the results of their applications by mail/email in mid-August.
